*tap* *tap* *tap*… Is this thing still on? It’s been 631 days since the last blog post here at TheMaltyGamer. So welcome to MaltyBlog #1 and Malty Monday!
If you didn’t realize or simply forgot that I had a personal blog, I wouldn’t worry too much. Apparently I forgot too. So I figured today was as good a day as any to sort of relaunch the blog!
Each and every Monday, I’ll try to post a write up here at TheMaltyGamer (from here on referred to as TMG) to keep all of you up to date on what’s happening in my life, my projects, and of course updates to http://www.maltycollects.com

Today brings another 88 comic books to the collection. That may seem like a lot but I still have so many more to add. I’ve been cataloging, organizing and re-bagging all of my books I’ve collected since the 80s and 90s. Since I’m still actively collecting and buying, I don’t expect this part of the collection to slow down any time soon.
The website has also gone through a couple minor design changes and tweaks. The image ‘bars’ for each category has changed for example, as well as the ‘stats’ graphic for the site.

While not perfect, I’m slowly getting the website layout to resemble something I can be happy with. As an artist I suppose I’ll constantly be adjusting everything till it’s just right. It never ends.

On the topic of website layouts and designs, let’s talk briefly about the future of TMG. As stated above, it’s been 631 days since I last posted anything here. Now that I plan to post each Monday, it’s probably a good time to clean things up a bit. Remove some old posts, and pages. Update, tweak or even move some others.
Over the next few months you’ll see some big changes to TMG. Ultimately I’m trying to streamline things a little between MaltyCollects and TMG. Of course I will keep all of you updated right here at TMG as those changes begin.

Before I wrap up this post, I want to touch on one more thing that is unfortunately changing… Twitch.
It all started simply enough. Twitch was the best way at the time (2020) to keep doing AEW watch a longs with my friends. It was fun and as the pandemic reared it’s ugly head into the picture, streaming took on a life of its own. I kept going with it as there wasn’t much else to do at the time. So were tons and tons of other people. Twitch exploded during the pandemic as people sought to find ‘easy’ ways to make money from home, or to just simply pass the time. I was in the later group.
Flash forward to now… I have gained a few hundred followers, made countless new friendships, and created memories I will cherish for a lifetime. As with anything you do on a repeated basis however, there’s burnout. The explosion of Twitch has died down significantly post-pandemic, and many of the friends I’ve made on the platform have moved on either mostly or completely.
I of course am also the type of person who, if I’m not having fun then I don’t do it. Twitch is no longer bringing me the joy it used to. It has started to feel like a chore I need to keep up with, and with that being the case, it’s time to take a slight pause.
I have so many projects (web, video and audio) that I want to pursue, and get started on. That’s where my focus will start going. I will continue the AEW Dynamite streams every Wednesday night, but for now that will be it. I don’t have the energy or will power to do much more with Twitch at this time.

I have many things I’d like to talk about and go into. This post however is just a starting point. I have much more to come over the next few weeks and months. I think I’ll spread things out a bit.
I want to thank all of my supporters here in the MaltyVerse, without you all I wouldn’t be doing this. Thank you!
Till next time, be good to each other and game on!
~ Malty
