On This Day In Gaming History!: April 11th, 2018

Tomb Raider: Legend is an action-adventure video game, the seventh entry in celebration of the ten-year anniversary of the Tomb Raider franchise. Published by Eidos Interactive, it is the first game in the series not to be developed by Core Design, but by Crystal Dynamics and the first full reboot within the series.

It was released for PlayStation 2, XBOX, and XBOX 360 in North America on April 11th, 2006.

Tomb Raider: Legend received positive reviews from critics, who generally felt it marked a return to form for the franchise. IGN declared that “It’s now safe to return to the game you once loved. Crystal Dynamics successfully resurrects an old franchise from the tomb.” However, the reviewer stressed the game should have been longer and therefore referred to it as a “brief but fun adventure that just about anyone can enjoy.”
