Final Fantasy XI, also known as Final Fantasy XI Online, is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), developed and published by Square (later Square Enix) as part of the Final Fantasy series. It was released for the PS2 in North America on March 23rd, 2004.

Final Fantasy XI had additions released every few years. Expansion packs added new story, jobs, zones, quests, and content to the game, while add-ons are smaller in scale, adding a smaller selection of the aforementioned items.

The PlayStation 2 version of the game came with a 40GB hard drive that required the Network Adaptor to connect to the system.

Final Fantasy XI received positive reviews from critics. Aggregating review websites GameRankings and Metacritic gave the PlayStation 2 version 85.04% based on 57 reviews and 85/100 based on 49 reviews.
