It’s been awhile since I have updated the Trophy Case, so I thought I would take the opportunity to add the newest 5 PSN Platinum Trophies I’ve acquired, and say a quick blurb about each one. So here we go!
Platinum Trophy #76 (Earned On 11/8/17)
Monster Jam: Crush It! (PS4)
The main theme you will find among the new trophies in this post, is how easy they were, and this game is no exception. This game was stupid easy! Collect a few letters, win some races, do some stunts, etc. Can be done in a day. I feel no shame in using this game to score an easy Plat, trust me I have played much much worse.
Platinum Trophy #77 (Earned On 11/10/17)
Dreamals: Dream Quest (PS4)
This will be the first of two Platinum trophies that I have to give FULL credit to my awesome wife for! This game is a puzzle game involving moving animals on screen (that can only move in very specific ways and directions), avoiding obstacles, and collecting keys to exit levels. A game that I simply had no patience for or interest in. However my wife liked it a lot, so I told her to have at it! She only played casually over the course of a year, but finally popped that shiny new plat on 11/10/17!
Platinum Trophy #78 (Earned On 11/17/17)
Life Is Strange (PS4)
Now for the second of two platinum trophies my wife earned for me. Life Is Strange was a game I always had on my list of games to play, yet always had something else I wanted to play more. My wife had already earned her own plat for this game on her own PSN profile, but loved the game so much that she wanted to play it again! So I said, “here, have at it!”. I heard it was a great game, but as far as story games went, I still had a backlog of Telltale games to finish. To this day, I still have no idea what this game is about, though there seemed to be a lot of picture taking. None the less, I have a shiny new Plat, and my wife was happy. 😉
Platinum Trophy #79 (Earned On 12/10/17)
XBlaze Lost: Memories (PS3)
Oh visual novels, how I love them. Ok, not really. Every one of them I had played up to this one, I just couldn’t get into. I would literally skip all the text, and wait for the plat to pop. So when Memories was given out to PS Plus members free for PS3 (so glad I have mine!), I just assumed this visual novel would be the same as the others. However, I was so pleasantly wrong! It took a little while to understand what was going on in the story, but once I was on board, I was hooked. I instantly felt connected to the characters and their story, and read EVERY. SINGLE. LINE. OF. DIALOGUE. I couldn’t wait to see how everything ended, and now that I know there are other games in this series, I will be tracking them down. Nice new plat, even better game! 😀
Platinum Trophy #80 (Earned On 1/26/18)
I will not lie. I bought this game from the PSN during a Flash Sale, as I knew it was supposed to be an easy Plat. While I did have to play the game 3 times (due to an error on my part), they were short playthroughs, and it was indeed an easy plat. And that’s all I can really say about this game, because I still have zero clue as to what it was all about! There was 2 FBI agents, a missing person, aliens and a UFO, a buffalo sacrifice (yes you read that right), a bird (cardinal), feathers and flowers to collect, ZERO dialogue and ZERO text on the screen. So for a ‘story’ game, it was a mess. The only thing I semi enjoyed was the music in the game. In the end, I was very glad to have this one over with.
At the end of 2017, I racked up 21 new plats (a new record for a full year!), and started off 2018 with a really boring game. However now that I am at 80 Platinum trophies, I have to earn 70 more in just this year alone to hit my goal of 150 by end of the year! That means a new annual record, and probably a lot of interesting new games to be played……and some duds too lol.
For the complete list, check out my Trophy Case, and stay tuned for more updates coming soon!
Cheers & Game On!
