Only a week into the games official release, there has been many glitches found for the gold costumes in AEW Fight Forever. The costumes have randomly unlocked, with no rhyme or reason, for many players. Some have been able to keep them, others have seen them disappear after they close out their game. I for example had somehow unlocked the gold costume for Jade, and was able to keep it even though it was a glitch. Here is the LEGIT way to unlock the gold costumes, keep them, and get the SECRET Challenge associated with each wrestlers gold costume.
To do this the easiest way, you will need 2 controllers.
- First step is to go your settings from the main menu screen (I am on a PS5, so that’s the Triangle Button for me), and select Championship Management. You have to put the Men’s AEW World Heavyweight Championship on one of the 2 wrestlers you want the gold costume unlocked for. I am starting alphabetically through the roster, so I am putting the belt on Abadon. Yes it has to be the Men’s belt, and yes the women of AEW can hold/defend that title. AEW is so weird sometimes lol
- Next, go back to the main menu and go to Exhibition match, and choose 1 On 1.
- With both controllers set as a local player (not COM), have player 1 be Abadon, and player 2 be Adam Cole. You can use any wrestler you want for player 2, but as I am trying to stay alphabetical through this whole process, so I went with Adam Cole.
- Now for the only grind of this whole process… each wrestler has to win the belt 20 times. Since Abadon has the belt, you want to grab control of Player 2 and have Adam Cole win this match.
- Winning can be done in mere seconds as you are controlling both players. Just have Adam knock down Abadon and the pin them. Takes about 10 seconds lol. Now Adam has won the belt 1 time.
- At the end screen, DO NOT select Exit Match, but instead select Rematch. It’ll be much faster this way.
- Now repeat this process but have Abadon win the belt back from Adam. Now they have won the belt one time.
- You will need to do this back and forth a total of 20 times for EACH wrestler (therefore a total of 40 matches will be had). I used the notepad on my iPhone to help keep track of how many times I needed to keep going for each wrestler.
- Once a wrestler has won the belt for the 20th time, you will have unlocked and completed the Secret Challenge for ‘Gold Attire 1’ for each wrestler.
- You will see the Gold Attire unlocked as a new item on your match over screen for each wrestler, and…
- You will see the Secret Challenge unlocked for each wrestler in your Secret Challenges menu under Challenges.
Now that we have them unlocked, I am sure you will want to use them yes? Well now we must equip them to do that. Just like all unlocked costumes (including the Broken version of Matt Hardy), we have to Modify the wrestlers and it’s super easy to do.
- On the games main screen, scroll over to Custom and select Modify Wrestler.
- We will use Abadon as an example, so select them.
- Once you are on their Modify screen, select New Preset.
- Then click on Attire Settings
- Now select the new Gold Costume that you just unlocked
- Once selected, you’ll hit X (on PS5) one more time on the box with the do not enter type symbol to confirm.
- Optional step: Name the preset costume. Highlight Preset 1, and go to options (square on PS5). Then select the rename option. I am choosing to just name this preset as Gold.
- Finally, and this is VERY important… Select Finalize, so everything you just did is saved.
- Rinse and repeat these steps for the other wrestlers you have new gold (or any) costumes for.
- Now when you go to start a match of any type, you will have new Options to change their attire…
Enjoy your new shiny Gold costumes! Yeah they do look a little goofy, but are fun to unlock and collect!
Now the grind of doing this for every wrestler in the game starts lol! There is no confirmation yet if this also works on Custom created wrestlers, but you are more than welcome to try it out. Comment below if it works for you!
